Dear families of Rising 7th and 8th grade students,
Today you are receiving a letter from the county that explains the exciting fine art and high school level elective options for your student next year! We have been busy planning and helping set your child up for success in the 2026-2027 school year by doing the following:
- Students will soon be viewing a special WLMS elective video during CALM Time to learn about the many exciting electives available to them at WLMS.
- WLMS held a virtual parent night on Thursday, January 22nd, to discuss the fine arts and high school credited electives offered and the importance of finding the right balance for your child. If you missed it, the WLMS Elective Night Presentation can be found here.
- Your child’s teachers have made recommendations for the level they feel is best for your child. Beginning on February 2nd, you will be able to see these recommendations in Synergy. If you have a question regarding the recommendations, you may contact your child’s teacher via email or if you would like for your child to have a different challenge you may utilize the Course Placement Review (CPR) process online as outlined in the attached letter. Directions for how to complete the process can be found on our HCPSS Guides page under “6th-8th Grade Course Registration Guide”.
We hope you are as excited about these future opportunities as we are! If you have questions or need help considering the right options or best fit, please contact your child’s current grade level counselor for assistance.
