Happy Friday, Tiger Shark families!

Thank you for your support of the WLMS Jazz Band at our first “Jazz in the Woods.” Join us for our performance Saturday April, 30, 2022  at 9:25AM and watch 13 of HCPSS middle school and high school jazz bands for a morning/afternoon of music and entertainment. For those who have never been to the Chrysalis, please note that this is an outdoor venue (amphitheater) and you will need to bring a blanket or lawn chair for seating. Some lawn chairs are provided by the Inner Arbor Trust,inc., the organization hosting this event.

Teacher Appreciation Week

Donations Needed:

Help us celebrate our amazing staff during Teacher Appreciation Week: May 2-6. We have a lot of activities planned throughout the week: breakfast, lunch, mini Bundt cakes, mini seated massages, and more. Any amount of money you can donate would be greatly appreciated! Student Opportunities for Teacher Appreciation Week:

1. Students will have the opportunity to help make posters for the staff to help us show our appreciation for everything they do. All materials will be provided by the PTSA. Posters will be made during lunch times on Wednesday May 4th. You don’t have to be artistic, all are welcome.

2. Pre-printed “Thank You” notes will be made available to students on this Friday April 29th. Fill them out, decorate them, and hand them out to staff during Teacher Appreciation Week.

3. Do you have any pictures of you and your teachers or other staff members? We are collecting pictures for a slideshow that will be played in school during lunch hours to celebrate our staff. (Pictures and slide show will not be shared online, only displayed in school.) Send pictures to Jessica Kelly at jessica.celia.kelly@gmail.com 

4. “Chalk the Walk”: Come join us on Monday May 2nd (a day off of school for students) from 3 to 5pm in front of WLMS to help us draw and write our appreciation to our staff on the sidewalks in front of our school. Chalk will be provided and the whole family is welcome!

Attention all current 6th grade parents……

All 7th grade students must have a single dose of Tdap (tetnus/dipetheria, pertussis) and a single dose of MCV4 (meningitis) BEFORE starting the school year on Monday, August 29th for the 2022-23 school year. First letters have already been sent home with those students whose school health records indicate are in need of receiving this vaccines and second letters will be sent home this week again.

Not all current 6th grade parents will be receiving this letter. ONLY students who, according to our records, will need these vaccines to start 7th grade.

Good News……

Wilde Lake Middle will once again be offering an In-School Immunization Clinic on Friday, May 13, 2022 and your child, with your permission, is eligible to receive his/her missing immunization(s) here in school. This clinic is provided by the Howard County Health Department at NO COST as part of their back-to-school immunization program.

If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity and have your child vaccinated in school, simply complete the consent form attached to the letter being sent home this week and return it to the WLMS Health Room no later than Monday, May 9, 2022.
