Happy Friday WLMS Community! We are off to an amazing start at the Lake this 23-24 school year. Our newest Tigersharks continue to impress me as they have quickly mastered lockers, the lay of the Lake, and are making positive contributions to their 6th grade community. For our returning Tigersharks, they are working on building off of their strong end to 22-23 and setting a positive tone for the 6th graders to follow. I want to make sure I take the opportunity to uplift the positive energy, hard work, and dedication of our staff this week. Thank you for the care, patience, and warm welcome you have provided for our students to ensure they are equipped to do great things this school year. Also, I would like to thank our caring and compassionate community for your patience, understanding, and collective efforts to support our students’ return to school as we have been excitedly ready to see them each day. I look forward to meeting more families next Thursday evening at our Back To School Night and building off of our strong start. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have. Mr. Rattay, Principal Student Town Halls & Code of Conduct: This past Wednesday the WLMS Administration met with all students via Grade Level Town Halls to review WLMS Expectations, various HCPSS Policies, and the Student Code of Conduct. The Student Code of Conduct and Student Town Hall presentation will be posted on the WLMS Student Community Canvas Page and linked to our website. If you have any questions please contact Mr. Rattay, Mrs. Harmon, or Mrs. Keck. Note from the secretaries: When picking your student up for an early dismissal, we MUST have an ID to release the child. Please take a moment to update your family file. CA Points information: Dear WLMS Families:
Columbia Association (CA), in partnership with (SCHOOL NAME), is offering students the opportunity to participate in the CA Points Program, which awards CA memberships to income-eligible students who excel in the classroom. Earned memberships are awarded to the student and all members of their immediate family.
The CA Points Program is available for students in grades 3 - 12 (ADJUST BASED ON SCHOOL) who are enrolled in the Free and Reduced Meals program.
After a student is enrolled in the CA Points Program, the student earns points by scoring well on assignments, improving their grades and having good attendance. The better they do in school, the closer they get to a one-year CA membership for their immediate family.
