September 9, 2022 Newsletter

Hello, TigerShark Families!

We have had a wonderful second week here at Wilde Lake Middle! Students have been busy reviewing school wide expectations and creating a classroom community. It's going to be a great year!   BTSN was a great success.  It was wonderful to see so many families last night.  Take some time this weekend to discuss the first two weeks back, and what made the most significant impact.

A few reminders for families:

Showing up for school has a huge impact on a student's academic and social success.  Please remind your students to arrive to school and to be in their Period 1 class by 8:00 each day.  Our building opens at 7:45 and all students receive breakfast at that time in their PD 1 class.

Please remind your students that cell phones must be turned off and away during the school day. If it is an emergency and you need to reach your child, please call the front office.

Important dates:

  • September  13th- Vision and Hearing Screen for All 8th Graders

  • September 15th- PTSA Meeting: All are welcome to join us for our 1st PTSA meeting on Thursday September 15th at 7 PM over Zoom. (See website for information). Announcements:

In Case of Emergency!

Every year HCPSS parents must complete a Family File for each child. HCPSS utilizes Family File for parents/guardians to complete emergency information. Thank you to all the parents/guardians who completed your Family File. We have 67% of our school with completed Family File information; this means that we do not have updated emergency information for 33% of our students.

If you have not done so already, please log in to www.hcpss.org/connect to complete or update your Family File. Parents/guardians must verify and/or update information for each child, and can do so by logging in to HCPSS Connect and selecting the Family File tab on the left and then clicking on Family File.

Reduced Cost Dental Services at HCC

HCC's Dental Hygiene Center hosts dental exams and services for $10 for children and $20 for students for any families without health insurance! Visit howardcc.edu/dentalcenter or 443-518-1570 to request an appointment.
