Address Map Our Mission In the News WLMS help the Animal Advocates of Howard County Terrapin helps teach science Students shed light on issues at Voices of Youth Pressing for positive change at Wilde Lake [Middle] School - September 8, 2009 40th Celebration - October, 2009 We Believe Our Goals Just the Facts Wilde Lake Middle is located in Columbia, Maryland.  Wilde Lake Middle was opened in 1969, renovated in 1974 and again in 1998.  During the summer of 2009, Wilde Lake Middle went through minor renovations receiving fresh paint inside and out and a few more walls to close off the open spaces. Wilde Lake Middle School has a diverse student population and faculty consisting of 492 students and 86 faculty members. The Wilde Lake community is a very active and supportive community with approximately 313 PTSA members. Profile Awards School MD PBIS  Exemplar School - Gold (2009, 2010, 2011) Healthy Howard School of Innovation Award (2009, 2010, 2011) Staff Mr. Saunders - Washington Post Distinguished Educational Leadership Award Recipient - Howard County Educational Leader in Technology Award Recipient Ms. Hackeling - Teaching Tools Award Recipient (2008) Ms. Stiller - Maryland Council Teachers of Mathematics, Middle School Teacher of the Year 2011 Students Ilana Dingle and Jenny Haynes were selected as finalists in a state wide writing competition. The WLMS Debate team defeated Hammond Middle School March 24th in an excellent, hard fought battle.  The WLMS Debate team remains undefeated for two years, with an overall record of 5 wins and one loss in the past three years.     Tasha Powers and Meg Brinkman won 2nd at the county History Day competition for their group exhibit project.
